Queensland Law Society welcomes its 2021 President, Elizabeth Shearer, who takes over the reins from 2020 President Luke Murphy.
A member of QLS since 1986, Ms Shearer is active on a range of its committees, has been a QLS Senior Counsellor since 2015, is a member of the Law Council of Australia's Access to Justice Committee and QLS Deputy President in 2020. Ms Shearer was also a member of the QLS Council from 2014-17.
Outgoing President Luke Murphy wished Ms Shearer every success.
"Elizabeth has been a strong and active contributor to QLS for many years. As Deputy President, her support and collaboration, particularly during a very challenging year, was invaluable," Mr Murphy said.
"I’m confident that Elizabeth will continue the great work that was commenced during 2020 and I’m looking forward to continuing our partnership as Immediate Past President in 2021."
